There have been several really powerful and/or interesting articles and/or blog posts that have caught my attention lately, and I thought I’d take just a moment to share them here.

{1} Nadia Bolz-Weber on the parable of the fig tree and how we tend to assign roles to ourselves and God in parables.

{2} Rachel Pieh Jones with a guest post on J.R. Goudeau’s blog – an eye-opening piece about relational poverty and how we can contribute to poverty without realizing it.

{3} Sarah Bessey discussing how God does not want to use us.

{4} The New York Time’s piece on how strong family stories make strong and resilient families, which from personal experience I believe is completely accurate.

{5} Rachel Held Evans saying that the Bible Is Just Not That Into You.  Instead, the Bible is into us, because the Bible is about community.

{6} Ann Voskamp’s letter to her son about manhood in light of the recent sexual violence that has been in the news.
